Storytime

Once upon a time there were 5 lovely, pregnant ladies who all at different times decided to take advantage of the Prenatal Fitness on the Ball class at East Bank Club. Susie and Michele met first. Then Grace and Susie. Then Susie, Grace and Michele. And here came Amy. And last but not least, Karen. They all exchanged emails and would get thru the week sending funny quips, stories, complaints and doctor appt. updates. The girls would meet Monday mornings at 9am for Adina's class and discuss meeting again Wednesdays for Trudi's water aerobics class with all the bluehairs. After each swim class, they would have lunch at the Grill to discuss husbands, pregnancy woes, eat 'healthy' and indulge in dessert. Grace went first - having sweet Alessia on April 19th. Then Susie, having precious Ava on May 23rd. A couple of months passed and it was Michele's turn and on July 12th here came adorable Ellie. And almost a week later on July 18th, the biggest of the babies, but very cute Chloe was born. Just 10 days later on July 29th, the lone boy in the group and a lucky one at that, handsome Nicholas made his debut. The babies had all arrived.

Friendship is defined as the cooperative and supportive relationship between people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as the exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for some, the practical execution of friendship is little more than the trust that someone will not harm them.

In a short amount of time, these five women have become the best of friends. They share everything with each other, understand each other and respect each other. There's an unspoken trust and a feeling of family between them. Without these friends, there may be lonelier days, more sadness, less fun and few smiles. But because of them, motherhood is more amazing than any of the girls could imagine and life more tolerable than each had hope it would be.
